Ruby had been having issues with her stability and mobility for a while. After a recent fall, she was referred to Reed Wellbeing's One You Cheshire East service which runs a Stand Strong programme.
Before joining the free 26-week programme, we gave her an initial screening session to identify her level of mobility, strength and balance and to make sure the programme would be suitable and safe for her.
Ruby was invited to a weekly, face-to-face, group exercise class, which provided her with exercises to improve both her strength and balance.
As she challenged herself in this controlled environment, she became more confident on her feet. We also gave Ruby extra resources, so she could do the exercises at home, which helped her progress even more.

Stand Strong gave Ruby the support she needed to help her overcome her challenges, and she was delighted to regain her confidence. She’s become more active, which has improved her lifestyle, and she’s now able to stand easier from a sitting position.
Ruby’s also now planning to join our outdoor walking groups in her local community.
