We’re proud to announce the launch of the new Quit Smoking Stoke-On-Trent service — a free, evidence-based support service for anyone aged 12+ who lives, works, studies, or is registered with a GP in Stoke-on-Trent.

The service has been delivered by Reed Wellbeing, since 1 October 2021. However, the new contract will deliver an enhanced service to residents within the borough.

Commissioned by Stoke-On-Trent City Council, the service will support people looking to quit smoking or vaping, with a flexible, person-centred approach that includes access to NRT, Vapes and approved pharmacotherapy.

Delivery will be done through a menu of support options, with times and locations to suit our participants needs. There will also be tailored support for priority groups, such as pregnant women, people with severe mental health needs and people accessing drug and alcohol treatment support.

This service is about empowering people to take control of their health—with support that meets them where they are, in the way that works best for them.

Importantly, we are working closely with local partners across health, education, housing, leisure and community services to ensure truly accessible and effective support is provided.

Christine Lunn, Programme Director for Integrated Health at Reed Wellbeing, said:

Reed Wellbeing has proudly partnered with Stoke-on-Trent City Council over the past four years to deliver effective tobacco cessation support. Today, we’re delighted to launch our new Quit Smoking Stoke-on-Trent service — designed to make quitting smoking and vaping more accessible, inclusive, and impactful for local people. This next phase of our partnership builds on strong foundations and shared ambition, and we’re excited to continue working closely with the Council and our highly valued local partners over the next 4½ years as we move together toward a smoke-free 2030.
