Movember is more than moustaches, it’s an opportunity to raise awareness of men’s health issues, including mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer. At Reed Wellbeing, we’re proud to support this cause by helping men take control of their health through practical and accessible lifestyle interventions.
Why Men's Health needs attention
Men are statistically less likely to seek help for health-related concerns.
Movember shines a light on this gap and encourages open conversations, early intervention, and healthier habits.
Here are some small changes you can make today to support your health and wellbeing:
Talk about mental health - start a conversation with a friend or colleague about how you are feeling, speak to your GP or get in touch with organisations like Andy Mans Club, Men Who Talk, We're Mind, the mental health charity | Mind.
Get active – take a brisk 10-minute walk everyday or try the NHS Couch to 5K. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes and depression
Eat more healthily - use the NHS Food Scanner app to find healthier swaps. Improving diet can reduce the risk of obesity, heart disease and some cancers
Quit smoking - download the NHS Quit Smoking app for daily support or find your nearest Reed Wellbeing Stop Smoking Service.
Drink less alcohol - try alcohol free days using the NHS Drink Free Days app or find your nearest Reed Wellbeing Drink Less Service
Get a health check - book a free NHS Health Check if you are over 40 or find your nearest Reed Wellbeing NHS Health Check location (eligibility criteria applies)
Follow the 5 Ways to Wellbeing - these are simple, evidence-based actions to improve mental and emotional wellbeing
Reed Wellbeing offers a range of services that support men in making positive changes:
Making Positive Change – for emotional wellbeing and resilience
Drink Less – to reduce alcohol-related risks
Move More – to boost physical activity and heart health
Eat Well – for better nutrition and weight management
Healthy Hearts and Minds – for holistic wellbeing
NHS Health Checks - a free midlife MOT for adults aged 40–74, assessing risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease, and offering tailored advice to support healthier lifestyle choices.
