Reed Wellbeing will be supporting individuals prescribed the weight-loss medication, Tirzepatide, helping them to build sustainable lifestyle changes that will aim to improve their overall health.
We are pleased to deliver the NHS Healthier You: Behavioural Support for Obesity Prescribing Programme which offers practical, non-judgemental wrap around support and the promotion of healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes. Participants can use Tirzepatide alongside making small, sustainable habit changes, to maintain their health and wellbeing long term.
This programme is about more than numbers on a scale. It’s about helping individual's feel better, move more freely, and live the life they deserve. It isn't just about the food, but everything around it, focusing on the importance of sleep, stress management and managing unexpected life events more effectively. It encourages progress not perfection, building the ability to stay consistent, despite challenges that may arise.
Delivered through structured behavioural support through 13 group-based sessions over 9 months, led by trained health coaches, the programme aims to:
Support lasting healthy habits that enhance energy levels, physical health, and mental wellbeing
Improve understanding of portion sizes
Promote balanced eating that helps individuals feel fuller for longer
Provide practical tools for making informed decisions about food, physical activity, self-care and mental health, to manage stress and other triggers more effectively
Improve understanding of the value of movement
There will be regular opportunities for check-ins, goal setting, recommendations on nutrition and physical activity, a supportive community of others going through the same journey, tools to track progress and motivation and encouragement, celebrating successes along the way.
There are a number of potential benefits gained using Tirzepatide, whilst making lifestyle changes with the support of the programme. Research has shown that it lowers HbA1c levels (blood sugar) which is important in those with diabetes. It usually leads to significant weight loss, has been found to reduce total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (or LDL cholesterol) is linked to heart disease and stroke and reduce the severity and risk of cardiovascular (or heart related) events, such as heart failure.
Tirzepatide can also be supportive in appetite regulation, with many users saying they feel less driven to eat or snack, particularly in response to certain triggers, like emotions or different environments.
